Mixing - induced CP Asymmetries in Inclusive B Decays ∗
نویسندگان
چکیده
We consider CP violating asymmetries that are induced by particle-antiparticle mixing in inclusive channels of neutral B meson decay. Not only are the branching ratios sizable, at the 1% to 50% level, but some of those asymmetries are expected to be large because of substantial CKM phases. The inclusive sum partially dilutes the asymmetries, but the dilution factor is calculable, assuming local quark-hadron duality, and CKM parameters can be reliably extracted. We discuss in detail the determination of sin 2α from charmless final states in decays of B d mesons and survey the asymmetries for other inclusive final states. While probably not yet sensitive to standard model predictions, meaningful CP violation studies can be conducted with existing data samples of inclusive neutral B decays.

We consider the possibility of observing CP violation in quasi-inclusive decays of the type B does not contain strange quarks. We present estimates of rates and asymmetries for these decays in the Standard Model and comment on the experimental feasibility of observing CP violation in these decays at future B factories. We find the rate asymmetries can be quite sizeable. Observation of such asym...

متن کاملMixing-induced CP asymmetry in B → K∗γ decays with perturbative QCD approach
The mixing-induced CP asymmetries in B → K∗γ → KSπ0γ and B → K∗γ → KLπ0γ are expected to be small within the standard model. So they are among the most promising decay modes to test the standard model. In this paper, we compute the mixing-induced CP asymmetries in these decay modes, within the framework of the standard model, using perturbative QCD, and our conclusion is SKSπ0γ = −SKLπ0γ = −(3....

متن کاملFlavour-Conserving CP Phases in Supersymmetry and Implications for Exclusive B Decays
We study rare exclusive B decays based on the quark-level transition b → s(d) l+l−, where l = e or μ, in the context of supersymmetric theories with minimal flavour violation. We present analytic expressions for various mixing matrices in the presence of new CP-violating phases, and examine their impact on observables involving B and B̄ decays. An estimate is obtained for CPviolating asymmetries...
